Prior to joining BADA in 2024, Andrea was Senior Lecturer in Acting and Course Leader of MA Acting at East 15, University of Essex. She was founding Artistic Director of Zygo Arts and worked in co-production directing shows with ATG at Theatre Royal Brighton, Oxford Playhouse and with Tumanishvili Theatre in Tbilisi, Georgia. She has taught at many of the major drama schools in the UK including Royal Central School, Rose Bruford, the Drama Centre and the Royal Conservatoire Scotland. She was a regular tutor at the National Student Drama Festival and recently ran a Masterclass in Directing for the National Theatre as part of their Connections project. Beyond the UK Andrea has led workshops for professional companies and conservatoires in Italy, Germany, Georgia, Slovakia, Lithuania, USA and China and was conferred a Professorship from University of the Arts in Nanjing. Andrea’s award-winning productions include: The True History of Julia Pastrana (awarded Guardian 5 star review and Time Out Pick of the Year) La Locandiera (Best International Production New York Theatre Festival) The Dog Beneath the Skin & Suicide in B Flat (BAC – Associate Artist)

Andrea is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and advised the European Commission on standards for actor training across European universities and conservatoires. She has an interest in neuroscience and environmental practice and regularly runs intensive workshops on Connecting to Creativity in the beautiful Sussex countryside.
