JENNIFER EHLE will next star alongside Andrea Riseborough and Ashley Walters in ITV’s 6-part drama First Woman, created by Lydia Yeoman (Curfew) and George Oakes and directed by Philip Martin. Jennifer also stars in Season 3 of the AMC hit series INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE opposite Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid, which will premiere on June 7th. She also recurs in Taylor Sheridan’s SPECIAL OPS: LIONESS for Paramount+.
Jennifer starred in Jacklyn Bethany’s drama IN TRANSIT opposite François Arnaud and Alex Sarrigeorgiou, as well as in Alice Birch’s Amazon series DEAD RINGERS, based on David Cronenberg’s 1980s cult classic. She also starred in Kate Beecroft’s directorial debut EAST OF WALL, released in August 2025. She will be seen in the comedy-drama OUR HERO, BALTHAZAR opposite Jaeden Martell and Asa Butterfield.
Her film work also includes Rose Glass’ horror feature SAINT MAUD opposite Morfydd Clark, for which she was nominated for a British Independent Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also starred in Desiree Akhavan’s Sundance-winning THE MISEDUCATION OF CAMERON POST opposite Chloë Grace Moretz.
Earlier in her career, Ehle appeared in Ira Sachs’ LITTLE MEN and Rob Burnett’s THE REVISED FUNDAMENTALS OF CAREGIVING, both screened at Sundance, as well as Terence Davies’ A QUIET PASSION opposite Cynthia Nixon, and Anders Walter’s I KILL GIANTS opposite Zoe Saldana and Imogen Poots.
Her other notable film credits include Tom Hooper’s multi-Academy Award-winning THE KING’S SPEECH, Kathryn Bigelow’s DETROIT and ZERO DARK THIRTY, Steven Soderbergh’s CONTAGION, George Clooney’s THE IDES OF MARCH, Neil LaBute’s POSSESSION, István Szabó’s SUNSHINE, and Sam Taylor-Johnson’s FIFTY SHADES franchise.
On stage, Jennifer is a two-time Tony Award winner for performance in Tom Stoppard’s THE REAL THING (directed by David Leveaux) and THE COAST OF UTOPIA (directed by Jack O’Brien). She starred in J.T. Rogers’ Tony-winning Broadway play OSLO(2017, directed by Bartlett Sher), earning a Tony nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Play. She most recently played “Queen Gertrude” in the Park Avenue Armory production of HAMLET opposite Alex Lawther.
Jennifer won a BAFTA Award for her portrayal of Jane Austen’s ‘Lizzie Bennet’ opposite Colin Firth in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (1995 miniseries) and received a BAFTA nomination for Brian Gilbert’s WILDE with Stephen Fry.
