Leo went to Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he was awarded the Shakespeare Prize.
His classical roles include Gravedigger in Hamlet at the Young Vic; Egeus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Noel Coward Theatre; Fool in King Lear, and Elder Clerimont in The Fantastic Follies of Mrs Rich – all at RSC. For Bristol’s Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory under Andrew Hilton’s direction his roles were Brutus in Julius Caesar, Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew, Aaron in Titus Andronicus and the title role in Othello.
Modern roles include Quiz at Chichester Festival Theatre; The Oldest Old Man in Suzan-Lori Park’s Father Comes Home from the Wars at Royal Court; Stool Pigeon in King Hedley II, and the Bishop in Our Lady of Kibeho at Theatre Royal Stratford East; Perseverance Drive at Bush Theatre; Blackta at Young Vic directed by David Lan.
Television includes Domino Day, Anthony, Sitting in Limbo, Heirs of the Night, Black Earth Rising, The Moonstone, Gangsta Granny, Silent Witness, Nighthawks, Death in Paradise,Thomas Peters in Simon Schama’s Rough Crossing.
Film credits include The Kitchen Toto; Tom Shkolnik’s A Life Of One’s Own filmed at Pina Bausch’s Tanztheater, Wuppertal Germany.
He’s currently in rehearsals for the Donmar Warehouse’s Christmas ’25 production of J.B Priestley’s When We Are Married directed by Tim Sheader.
Leo has been part of BADA’s Faculty since circa 2010 and has led BADA’s Anglo Mexican Foundation Shakespeare workshops in Mexico City.
