Oladipo gained a BA in Theatres Arts at the University of Benin, Nigeria. Returning to the UK, he gained an MA in Literature, Representation and Modernity at the University of North London (now London Metropolitan University) and a PhD in African Drama at the Open University. He attended playwriting programmes at Soho Theatre, the Royal Court Theatre and Talawa Theatre Company.
Oladipo has taught courses in African Theatre and Performance, Post-colonial Theatres, Playwriting and Screenwriting at the University of North London, City University, SOAS, Goldsmiths University of London, the University of Greenwich and on the Theatre Academy London programme of Florida State University. He has run playwriting workshops for Soho Theatre, the Royal Exchange, the New Wolsey, and Theatre 503. He has run playwriting workshops in Nigeria, Turkey, Brazil and the United States. His produced plays include: The Christ of Coldharbour Lane, The Estate, Iyale (The First Wife), Early Morning , Threshold, Immune, God is a DJ, Here’s What She Said to Me.
